Football clubs to get defibrillators

Following the collapse of Fabrice Muamba who was playing for Bolton Wanderers against Tottenham Hotspur in the 2012 FA cup quarter final, the FA have announced that in collaboration with the British Heart Foundation a fund to provide defibrillators to non-league and and Womens Super League clubs.

Health and Safety Executive new procedures: how they affect your business

In June 2012the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) announced a set of new procedures, termed Fee for Intervention (FFI). These would allow the HSE to recover its investigation costs from businesses directly. It would be applied only in cases where a business fails to observe health and safety law.

Tower block fire – inquest announced

An inquest into the 2009 residential tower block fire at Lakanal House, Sceaux Gardens Estate,  London which resulted in six fatalities is taking place at Lambeth Town Hall and is led by Assistant Deputy Coroner Frances Kirkham.

Health and Safety: the real cost of slips trips and falls for businesses.

The latest statistics released by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) state that in 2011-12, 27 million working days were lost due to work-related illness and workplace injury. 173 workers were killed and 111,000 were injured at work in 2011-2012.
